2020 WINTER ID CLINIC

American Soccer Camp invites you to join us for our Winter ID Clinic. One of four seasonal one-day clinics, the Winter clinic has been our largest and most competitive clinic, most suited to those aspiring to become future American Eagles. The clinic will be held on Jacobs Field – an artificial turf facility located on campus. Open to any and all girls aged 14-23, the sessions will be designed to elevate the players’ understanding of what regimented training at the Division I level looks like. They will be encouraged to show their speed of play, their tactical discipline & adaptability, their ability to perform in a new and challenging environment, all through the scope that allows each girl to demonstrate her individual ability and fit for AU Women’s Soccer.

What To Bring:

Itinerary:

  • The clinic begins at 12:00 p.m. Please arrive 45 minutes to an hour before the start time to register and get settled. The clinic ends at 4:30 p.m., so try to avoid flights that depart before 8:00 p.m. (if you have to leave early please let a coaching staff member know).
  • The Winter ID Clinic will include some technical / tactical sessions, small sided games, 11v11 matches along with some shooting & finishing station work.
  • Aside from the soccer portion there will be a campus tour, snack break (bring your own snack), and Q&A with the coaching staff and current AU players.

Parking / Drop Off / Pick-Up: Drop off / pick-up is at Jacobs Turf Field (4400 Massachusetts Avenue NW, Washington, D.C. 20016) behind the Bender Arena Building above our grass game field. Parking is free on the weekends in the Bender Arena Garage by the Watkins Building parking lot by the Jacobs Turf Field. (View map)

Medical: Certified College Athletic Trainers will be available at all times campers are engaged in athletic activities and will be on call at all other times. There will be camp counselors and staff in the dorms at all times. The American University Student Health facility is also available on campus. Commuter and Residential Camper will be required to complete a Medical Release Form signed by their parent prior to participation. Our training staff will be present at check in to answer any questions regarding medication or other medical issues. Any medications that a camper is authorized to take by their parent whether prescription or over the counter, must be disclosed on the Medical Release form and in its original container.

Additional Information:

  • There is a bathroom in the Watkins Building next to Jacobs Field
  • Food options on campus are in the Bender Arena / Mary Graydon Center Buildings and under the tunnel in the middle of campus
  • The book store is located between Bender Arena and Mary Graydon on the 2nd floor. Take the skywalk and up stairs or park in the 3rd floor of Bender Garage and the bookstore is through the right door of the garage.

Refund Policy: The camp now offers a insured refund policy via the purchase of a policy offered by Allianz. This Registration Protector Policy provides coverage for lost registration fees when a camper has to cancel or leave the camp for a reason covered by the policy.
The Camp Management STRONGLY URGES ALL CAMPERS to purchase this policy. This was a huge success for those campers who had this policy in the past and had to use it. The value cannot be overstated considering the cost of the policy.

Covered reasons for camp cancellation or interruption include:
• Injury or illness to the camper or a close family member
• Family employment issues
• Transportation delays
• Military/family/legal obligations
• Weather emergencies that prevent the registrant from attending this event.

If the Camp is canceled by the Camp Founder prior to the Camp designated weekend, a partial up to a full refund will be made. Any and all request for a refund once a secured registered slot has been secured by an attendee, the Camp Founder will have the final decision on how much, if any, of a refund will be allotted.
Weather related Refund Policy: If the Camp is canceled for weather prior to the start of the Camp, a $100 refund will be provided.
Once the Camp has started, no refund will be offered but the Camp Founder reserves the right to offer refunds at his sole discretion pending what circumstances occur.
Note: Rather a camp refund is provided or not, no out of pocket accrued expenses relating to attending the camp will ever be refunded.

Please note that there are no refunds. If a prospective athlete is registered for an event and needs to miss then a credit for a future AU event can be applied.
